Maintenance & EAM

Maintenance work that gets recorded, because recording it is easy

Asset-intensive organisations run IFS because the asset history matters. That history is only as good as the discipline of the people entering it — and discipline loses to friction every single time.

How does conversational AI help maintenance & eam teams on IFS Cloud?

NgageChat is a conversational AI assistant for IFS Cloud EAM. Maintenance teams describe a fault, ask for an asset’s history, check a work order’s state or release work in plain language, and NgageChat reads and writes IFS through the OData REST API under each person’s own IFS login — so the record gets created at the moment the problem is spotted.

Who asks what

The people who would actually type into it

Technician

  • Raise a fault report for pump P-114, the seal is leaking
  • What was the last work done on compressor C-22?
  • Add this photo to work order 3391

Maintenance planner

  • Which work orders at site 100 are overdue?
  • Add a 4-hour inspection operation to work order 3391
  • Which jobs are waiting on material?

Reliability engineer

  • How many failures on the pump fleet this year?
  • Record a meter reading of 14,820 hours on generator G-7
  • Show downtime by failure cause as a bar chart

Maintenance manager

  • What is our backlog by discipline?
  • How much of last month’s work was reactive?
  • Which assets consumed the most labour hours?

Today

Where the time goes

Faults get reported to a person, not the system

The result is an asset history with holes in it, and a reliability programme built on data that under-counts.

Planners spend their day being a search engine

Answering "what is the status of…" for people who have IFS access but not IFS fluency.

Condition data arrives late

Meter readings written on paper and keyed in on Friday cannot drive condition-based maintenance.

With NgageChat

What changes

  • Fault reports created at the asset, in the moment, with a photograph attached
  • Backlog and overdue questions answered without a saved search
  • Meter readings captured on the spot, so condition-based triggers actually fire
  • Planners freed from lookup duty

FAQ

Maintenance & EAM questions

Does NgageChat work with IFS Cloud maintenance out of the box?
Yes. Maintenance projections, entity sets, fault codes and required fields come from its index of the IFS Cloud data model, and your objects, values and custom fields are resolved live against your environment — so it targets what you actually have rather than a generic sketch of IFS EAM.
Can technicians be trusted with write access?
They already have it — in Aurena. NgageChat calls IFS with each technician’s own token, so their IFS permission set decides exactly what they can create or change. The chat interface does not widen access; it widens usability.
What about people in the field with poor signal?
NgageChat needs a connection to reach IFS live. For offline-first capture on the frontline, NgageEase is the right tool in the suite, and the two are complementary.
